Online Courses

Online Courses are web-based.  The course website will provide the student with resources, weekly assignments, and online reviews and quizzes.  All online courses require that a student has a basic understanding of how to maneuver around the internet, email, and how to email attachments.

When taking an online course a student should be strong at self-directed studies.

  • Improvisation - new to 2020
  • RCM Basic Harmony
  • RCM Intermediate Harmony

Benefits of Studying Online

  • Flexibility - study when it is convenient for  you.
  • Work at a schedule that suits your lifestyle.
  • Greater access to the instructor - questions  and assignments can be emailed anytime, rather than waiting until the next lesson.
  • Although weekly assignments are given, students will be given the option to work at their own pace.
  • More economical than private one-on-one instruction.
  • Access the course website from any location with internet access.
  • There is no need to worry if you miss a class; as your class is online for your convenience.
  • Save money on gas and time on travel.
  • Avoid adverse weather conditions if needing to travel.
  • Allows you to take a course when a teacher may not be available in your area.

How does an Online Course work?

Once a student has registered for a course they will be granted a password that will give them access to the course website. The course website will contain handouts, vidoes, scores and weekly assignments.  Access to online subscription services, and other online resources will be linked to each week’s assignment to aid the student in completing the assignments, online reviews, quizzes and tests scheduled throughout the course.

Students should be comfortable with basic computer and internet skills. When taking an onlin e course a student should be strong at self-directed studies.
