Welcome to a sample of an online course.

This is a small sample of what you may find as assignments in an online history course.  Assignments will vary from topic to topic, and not all topics follow the same format for assignments.

Each Unit/Assignment is divided into FIVE Sections:
  • Explore the Information
  • Explore the Sound
  • Explore the Score
  • Explore and Review
  • Explore your Memory Retention

The activities and assignments found in the Online Courses are based on Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive Levels.

Explore the Information
This section of the assignment will involve reading in the assigned textbook, viewing online handouts, PowerPoint presentations, or instructional videos.

Explore the Sound
This section of the assignment will involve watching/listening to video clips and/or recordings with specific listening assignments to complete.  Note that the listening clips are not activated in the Sample Assignment.
Explore the Score
For works where the score is in public domain, a score will appear here with the main themes and important features highlighted and notated.

Explore and Review
This section of the assignment will vary from topic to topic, and may include further research to give further understanding to the topic.  This will give the students an opportunity to review and apply what they have learned and studied.

Explore and Create
In this section students will find various activities that will involve "creating" to aid them in retaining the information that they have learned.

Please note that this is only a small sampling of some of the activities that students will find as part of their online course.
