Recitals
There are many opportunities for students to perform throughout the year, giving them monthly performance opportunities. Students are encouraged to participate in the many performing opportunities throughout the year.
Studio Recitals
Recital and masterclasses will be scheduled throughout the year. Please check here for added dates and times.
Private Performances Recitals
These are performances that usually take place during the lesson time (or an agreed upon time with the teacher). Students invite their guests, prepare a program, and prepare a selection of repertoire they would like to perform for their audience. The Private Performance Recital provides an opportunity for a very intimate recital where the student knows all their guests, providing a very friendly performance atmosphere. The Private Performance Recital is always followed by a small reception hosted by the student and instructor.
In-Studio Performance Club
These occur throughout the year, as needed, and give students the opportunity to "try" things out. This is the only studio event where parents or other adults are not invited. It provides a safe environment for students to perform for other students, to test their memory, their performance skills, and to develop the art of performing before performing in a more formal atmosphere.
Coaching Classes
Throughout the year, coaching classes are offered to students by registering through the Canadian National Conservatory of Music. These coaching classes range from 20 to 60 minutes and are offered two to three times throughout the year. Coaching Classes give students the opportunity of working with an examiner from CNCM and to draw upon their expertise.
SRMTA-Regina Branch Recitals
The Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers' Association - Regina Branch, hosts recitals throughout the year for the students of their members. Recitals are held at: Knox Metropolitan United Church at the corner of Victoria Avenue & Lorne Street.
Contemporary Showcase
Contemporary Showcase is a non-competitive festival sponsored by Alliance for Canadian New Music Projects. It is the only festival of its kind in Canada. Contemporary Showcase is devoted entirely to music by Canadian composers. It is non-competitive in that no marks are awarded, no ranking given and the adjudications take place in a master class atmosphere designed to be informative and supportive.
SRMTA - Regina Branch Mall Recital
The SRMTA Regina Branch holds an annual Mall Recital. This past year the venue was at the Golden Mile. A great "informal" setting for students to perform.
Cathedral Arts Village Festival - Recital
This is a performance opportunity for students, during the Cathedral Arts Village Festival - usually the last weekend of May. The CAVF Recital is hosted by the SRMTA-Regina Branch, and is held at Westminster United Church on 13th Avenue, in the Cathedral Village area.
