My Teaching Philosophy

My primary goal as a music educator is to create a climate in which my students can experience continual musical, and intellectual growth, while becoming increasingly dispensable to them in the process.  Everything I do as a teacher, and every other teaching goal I have, relates directly to this first, most basic objective - to help my students grow by and for themselves.

Objectives
All children are born with music aptitude and have the potential to learn music,
Children learn best through individualized sequential instructional,
Children learn best through aural and kinaesthetic experiences,
The approach in lessons is based on whole-part-whole learning, and
Instruction is based on the individual music differences of each child.

The approach in lessons is based on how children “learn” and process music.

Lessons and Courses
Studio lessons are available in piano, theory, harmony, counterpoint, analysis, music history, pedagogy.
